He won the PEN/Faulkner Award for Best American Fiction for his novel, Soldiers in Hiding, the Maria Thomas Fiction Award for Ahmed’s Revenge and the Silver Pen Award from the State of Nevada. The author of nine novels and a collection of short stories, Wiley is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and Professor Emeritus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he taught creative writing for 26 years.
