I loved this piece and am sending it to my children's dad - he's a radio-astronomer who studied the invisible universe - the subject of his doctoral thesis was the interstellar medium. He'd often tell people he'd written his thesis on nothing, an inside astronomer joke. (And this was before Seinfeld - haha.)
