In the almost 100 year history of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ highest award, the Oscar, only four actresses have won three or more. While some of the films for which they won their awards have withstood the test of time better than others, the extraordinary accomplishments of these four actresses cannot be overstated.
Only four? All four deserve the statues, although maybe not for the films they were nominated in. So much depends on other circumstances, even politics at times. I wonder how many female actors have been nominated for multiple Oscars - and perhaps have never won (yet.) Did I brag about my own stepdaughter, Tatiana, who was nominated as the film editor of "I, Tonya?" I am convinced she SHOULD have won. Haha
